We are a one of a kind, non-profit sports facility providing conference amenities, party rooms, an outdoor dek hockey rink and a beautiful memorial garden where local residents can enjoy concerts and many diverse community events. We offer all levels of skating programs, adult and youth hockey leagues and can host corporate events, birthday parties and special events. We are conveniently located in Westfield MA just minutes off of the Mass Turnpike or Rte 91.

Our History

Amelia Park Ice Arena is a sports complex and memorial garden, financed by the late philanthropist Albert F. Ferst. Throughout their lifetimes, the Fersts made it a priority to support family, community, and youth programs.
The Albert & Amelia Ferst Operating Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit entity was formed in 1998, with the expressed purpose of building this recreational facility. In 2000, Amelia Park Ice Arena became a reality but unfortunately, Millie passed away before it was completed. The Family responded by developing and building a beautiful 1.3 acre memorial garden next to the rink in her name. This garden has become a favorite spot for people throughout the region to come and enjoy free concerts, community activities and weddings.

The main building is a 47,000 square foot facility that includes an NHL sized ice rink with seating for 600; a figure skating lounge; three party rooms; a skate rental and sharpening area; four locker rooms and a food concession area. A 65′ x 170′ outside inline skating rink is located next to the main building.
