See you there!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that made 2016 a good year here at Amelia Park. We are so grateful for all of our users, the families and businesses that walk through our doors year after year. We're also so thankful for our sponsors and the people that give freely of their time and money to help with our operational needs and programming. Westfield is a unique community and it's great to be a part of this city.

Onward to 2017. There will be plenty of things in store for us here at the arena. Some facility upgrades, a new audio system, new rental skates and a few new events for hockey families and the community. We'll also continue with some old traditions like the Fire and Ice Tournament this January, the New England Invitational Sled Hockey Tournament in April and the Kevin Major Tournament in August. In January I'll discuss our vision for 2017 more in depth and some of the ideas we have in store. One thing is for certain, we can't do this alone and we want your feedback and ideas on how to make this facility more relevant and useful for all of you! So stay tuned and put those thinking caps on. We love hearing from all of you, so don't be shy!

I hope you all can take time to celebrate your families this holiday season. Here's to your health and a prosperous New Year!

Our History

Amelia Park Ice Arena is a sports complex and memorial garden, financed by the late philanthropist Albert F. Ferst. Throughout their lifetimes, the Fersts made it a priority to support family, community, and youth programs.
The Albert & Amelia Ferst Operating Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit entity was formed in 1998, with the expressed purpose of building this recreational facility. In 2000, Amelia Park Ice Arena became a reality but unfortunately, Millie passed away before it was completed. The Family responded by developing and building a beautiful 1.3 acre memorial garden next to the rink in her name. This garden has become a favorite spot for people throughout the region to come and enjoy free concerts, community activities and weddings.

The main building is a 47,000 square foot facility that includes an NHL sized ice rink with seating for 600; a figure skating lounge; three party rooms; a skate rental and sharpening area; four locker rooms and a food concession area. A 65′ x 170′ outside inline skating rink is located next to the main building.
